I generally prefer flavored snus, having switched from American flavored smokeless tobacco (Skoal) a few months ago.
Catch Eucalyptus is my favorite, I use more of it than anything else.
Röda Lacket is my second favorite, it has a very unusual and sophisticated taste, like citrus and vanilla combined.
Metropol is my favorite licorice flavored snus, it has a strong long lasting taste that reminds me very much of Swedish salted licorice candy!
Kardus is both my favorite loose and favorite unflavored snus, it has such a clean taste to it that I wish they could portion pack it so I could use it at work! |

My faves are:
Strongcut for maximum effect!
General Onyx... its flavour is a Snus-symphony. |

Maybe it's just that we have a soft spot for our first snus, but I love Knox loose. It's fine cut, moist, molds easily into a prilla (sp?), and has a unique aroma I have not found with other brands - at least not yet. Add to that that it's economical and no lightweight, and you have a real winner! Knox rocks!

Swedish Match also has a cheap no-frills snus called Kronan.
You might want to give it a try. It even has a very faint hint of passion fruit which I love. (not added, naturally occurring)
(as a little kid we used to have passion fruit plants growing around the house. Damn those thing were delicious. |

| I am so glad somebody else likes Kronan, I think it is pretty good as well. I guess it goes to show you that Kronan may be inexpensive, but it certainly does not taste cheap. |

| Kronan isn't bad at all. A little salty for me to use all the time, but worthy for when I'm low on money. |

Passionfruit? And here I am, away from my supply of Kronan. I need to check that out again.
I have a roll in my freezer. And I just ordered a roll of Probe. Plus seven other individual ones. Large unflavored portions, mostly. My roll of Kronan is my 'I'm out, time to order' holdover supply. _________________

I got a tin of Kronan as a sample. It was much better than I expected, but I didn't feel motivated to get any more. Then again, I compare everything to Kardus, which is so different from most snus it's almost unfair to do so.
I also have gotten used to the way Kardus stays in place, allowing you to drink and eat with ease. I used to like Prima Flint quite a bit but it's just too darn messy to use...for me, anyway. |

I love the Kardus as well. Could be a little stronger, though. It was so nice to crack open that first can and see dark, super moist, premium tobacco at hand. What a flavor... a nice dark, leaf-tobacco taste. And it is just so soft, I could keep that dip in forever.
As far as other snus goes, Goteborgs Rape is growing on me quickly. I hated it at first, but the more I use it, the more I appreciate the taste. |

| I got a can of Kardus in my latest order, and I have to say I wasn't impressed enough to pay six dollars a can again for it. The cut reminded me of Skoal Fine Cut, but the flavor wasn't bad. Just not worth the premium price to me. |

The new low-price-good-quality Knox has quite amazed me during the past few months. Tastes the same as Ettan and has the same quantity of nicotine in it. I am not a smoker, but whenever Snus is available, I use it. If it's not, I still don't feel like smoking.
Good-old Ettan may be considered as expensive, it's still the first I ever tried. Maybe that's why one of the best. Skruf rasberry is good, waiting to try out Stark. Catch liquorice and eucalyptus are somewhat satisfactory. Tre ankare- cant stand it. Gustavus-not suitable for me. Probe and stronc cut-too strong for me I quess. General white is good.
The most brands described here are portions. I don't like loose very much, cause It's kind of strong and bad to use.
This list may vey well not be final, but these are the ones I have tried and emotions I got. |

Grovsnus White Portion for me. The flavor is a more "pure" natural tobacco flavor. The white pouches are softer and easier on the gums. Most important for me though is that it doesn't get sour after a while. I have tried many brands of snus and liked the flavor only to have them become sour. (most recent one is montecristo)
Skruf has a good flavor but unfortunately doesn't last very long. After 30 minutes it has no taste. Skruf Stark is too strong in nicotene for me. Makes me feel ill.
Terrible snus: Rocker, Roots, General, TreAnkara, LD, Grand, Kicks,
For any of you that have tried Copenhagen Black in the U.S, that is my former dip and I loved the flavor of that. I'm sold now on portion snus, if only I could have a portion snus that has the flavor of Copenhagen Black I would be quite happy.
I've heard good things about Lucky Strike so I'm gonna get a can to see if I like it. Will let you know. |

| Well, if you don't mind loose snus, try Probe Whiskey. It is alot better than Cope Black to me. I don't know if it is made in portion though. |

| Hi there, everyone. This is the first post of a new and enthusiastic snusser in the UK. I too have tried many different brands and flavours, simply because I'm new to snus and I want to experiment. So far, my favourites are the Bacco cranberry and the eucalyptus Wise (is that kind of wussy to hardcore snuff users?). |

I don't really think there are "hardcore" snusers (like SNOO-SIRS, not snussers, SNUH-SIRS).
Nor are some snus types more "hardcore" than others although some people like to believe they are because they like a particular loose brand.
US dip brands *do* try their best to come across as the choice for rough and brawny folks though.
Two different worlds if you ask me.
More choice means there's a snus for every occasion. Has anyone ever counted how many brands and types there are in total? Prolly around a hundred. |
